Established in 2000, AssessSystems principle is Robin McKay MA(Hons), supported by Brent Lawrence MBA and Dr Ruth Jillings. With over 50 years of combined academic and practical business knowledge their experience is unique in the New Zealand Human Resources field.

We are Organisational Psychologists, our business is assessments. We focus on the people in organisations - which ones to hire or promote - how to train and develop them - and how to maximise their collective potential.

Robin McKay - MA(Hons) I/O Psych

Rob has an extensive background of 25 plus years in the New Zealand and Australian broadcasting industries. He pioneered commercial FM radio on both sides of the Tasman. Being an owner, operator and consultant of many radio properties, small and large, Rob has a solid base of general business and marketing knowledge in an industry that is very dependent on 'people performance'.
After selling his radio interests in the early 90s, Rob decided to go back to school! Over 5 years of full-time study he gained a BA in Business Psychology and a MA(Hons) in Industrial & Organisational Psychology from Massey University. Rob's interests lie in assessment for employee selection (especially sales persons), competency development and behavioural based interviewing. My full-length photo for pomotional usage.

 
 
 

Dr Ruth Jillings - PGDip I/O Psych, PG Cert CBT, PG Cert Hlth Sci

Ruth has a Ph.D in Psychology, She is a regular on TVNZ's Good Morning, National Radio, ZB Network and About Kids Magazine. She guest lectures at Massey University and prior to her academic career owned and operated her own interior design franchised business in Canada.
Ruth is an accomplished presenter, consultant and counsellor. Her main areas of interest is workplace wellbeing and team building.

 
 
 

Brent Lawrence - MBA (Hons)

Brent comes to us from a management-consulting career in the United States. Most recently he was General Manager of Hardwired, our new business teambuilding/communication tool. Brent heads Hardwired’s international division from AssessSystems. He is also trained in the use of our key assessment instruments – Rembrandt and ASSESS. His strong business background, consulting and administration skills complement our team. Brent is our resident “expert” on teamwork and business communication using our tool, Hardwired. His philosophy, “business is not a democracy, we don’t teach people to like each other, we get them to understand how your business makes money”!
